Train Your Little One's Gross Motor Skill with These Ways

Does Mommy know that playing activities have a myriad of benefits for the Little One? One of them is the benefit of sharpening the gross motor skill. What is gross motor skill? Gross motor skill is the ability to control large muscle movements, such as arms, legs, or muscles throughout the body. This ability makes the Little One can sit, crawl, walk, run, and jump. Gross motor skill is needed for the Little One to be independent. How do you train gross motor skills? Check out the following guide, Mommy:

The Little One age 12-18 months old

  • Train the Little One by giving toys he/she can push
  • Mommy can make tunnels from used cardboard. This will stimulate the Little One to crawl in and out.
  • Train the Little One’s balance by inviting him/her to do a standing-squat position.

The Little One age 18-24 months old

  • Play throw or kick a ball
  • Let the Little One try to help Mommy sweep the house, put dirty clothes into the basket of clothes, also put back toys that have been used
  • Teach the Little One to go up and down stairs properly

The Little One age 2-3 years old

  • Play the frog jump
  • Ride a bicycle
