5 Fun Sports Activities You Should Try With Your Little One.

Exercise is an activity with a myriad of health benefits. The benefits of exercise can be felt by individuals from all age groups. Routine exercise is not only beneficial for maintaining physical health, but is also good for mental development.

The benefits of exercise for physical health include lowering the risk of heart diseases, diabetes, and high blood pressure, as well as preventing obesity. Exercise can boost self-confidence, motivate the Little One academically, and sharpen their social skills.

For the Little One to be accustomed to routine exercise, parents should habituate this at an early age. By getting used to exercising from a young age, parents have helped the Little One to maintain their health in the long term.

Perhaps the Little One is not yet able to understand the importance of exercise, and therefore what parents need to do is convert exercise into a fun activity to be conducted together.

Exercising with the Little One does not mean that the family should do heavy physical activities or waste money by going to a gym especially for children. Parents can simply incorporate exercise in their routine daily activities. The following are some examples of activities that parents can do together with the Little One:

Exercising While Playing

Parents can take the Little One to participate in play activities that require a lot of movements, such as police and thief, hide and seek, catch, and other games. In addition, sporting activities can also be done by older children, such as soccer and basketball.

Get Used to Walking

Try to occasionally take the Little One for a walk to places located close to home. For instance, playing in the residential complex park, and going to the neighbour’s house, the supermarket, or for tutoring classes. If the distance is further, cycling can be an alternative. Furthermore, when going up or down one or two floors, do not use the elevator. Instead, use the available staircases.

Clean the House While Exercising

The Little One can exercise while doing household chores. To work around this, parents can turn the chore into a fun game. Create a game as if the Little One is a superhero who will fight enemies in the form of dust and germs by wiping, mopping, or sweeping.

Dance and Sing Together

Play music that the Little One likes, and ask them to dance and sing together. To make it more exciting, invite their cousins and friends to participate.

Walking the Pet

Evening walks while walking the pet around the residential complex would be enjoyable for the Little One. They can perform physical activity while carrying out their responsibility as a pet owner.

Exercising does not have to be complicated and involve spending money, right? With some of the alternatives listed above, the Little One can obtain the benefits of exercise and the family can spend their leisure time together.
