Check the Condition of the Eyes and Ears of the Little One Before Starting School

One of the preparations for the Little One prior to entering school is conducting eye and ear examinations. There are many parents who miss these examinations as they tend to focus on selecting the appropriate school, learning methods, and teachers for the Little One. However, disorders in the eyes or ears may also affect the learning process of the Little One.

Healthy eyes and ears can make it easier for the Little One to receive information in school. This certainly plays a key role in supporting their achievements, in addition to the quality of the school and teaching staff. Healthy ears also support the body movements of the Little One, as it is related to their balance.

Parents should know that as the age of the Little One increases, their vision will also develop or gradually experience changes. As the Little One enters kindergarten, the distance of their vision may not reach 6 meters yet, but this is still considered normal. The vision of the Little One is only accurate when their age reaches 5 years old.

Based on the aforementioned information, parents should ensure that they take the Little One for a consultation to the doctor to check their eye and ear health. These examinations can be conducted by the pediatrician in the hospital. If there is a problem that require further investigations, the pediatrician will refer them to an ophthalmologist or otorhinolaryngologist.

Is there a way to maximize the health and function of the eyes and ears? There certainly is. Pay attention to the nutritional intake of the Little One, such as by providing milk every morning and before bedtime at night. Why is milk so important?

Milk is a healthy drink that is often recommended for the health of children and adults. Milk contains complete nutrients and tastes delicious. The presence of nutrients such as minerals, proteins, calcium, fats, carbohydrates, phosphorus, zinc, amino acids, and vitamins (A, B, C, D, E, and K) in milk can help to maintain the health of the Little One, including that of their eyes and ears.

For Little Ones who have started school, their nutritional requirements will also increase to be able to sustain the various activities that they participate in at school. Implement the good habit of drinking milk routinely so that their nutritional requirements are met. Consuming milk during breakfast can increase the concentration of the Little One. This is because it contains complete nutrients and can be used as an alternative to breakfast.
