Avoid These 4 Inhibiting Factors Of Your Little One’s Growth And Development

The process of your Little One’s growth and development is influenced by several factors, such as genetic factors and environmental factors. To support the process of your Little One’s growth and development to be optimal, Mommy must meet the Little One’s needs, such as, nutrition, stimulation, immunization, playing activities, and enough rest.

The growth and development of the Little One is two different but always related things. Growth is a change that is quantitative or measurable. It is usually related to the size and biological structure of the body. Meanwhile, development is a change that includes adding the ability and function of bodily structure.

So what happens if the needs of the Little One are not well met? The Little One is at risk of developing growth disorders. Therefore, Mommy must know what are the things that can inhibit the growth and development of the Little One that must be avoided and how to make the Little One’s potential to be sharpening optimally. Malnutrition

In 2010-2012, the World Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates that about 870 million of the world's population suffers from malnutrition. Half of the 10.9 million child deaths in the world are predominantly caused by malnutrition cases. The Little One who is malnourished also has a weak immunity against infection. He/she is also at high risk of death from diarrhea and respiratory diseases. Other recurrent infections can disrupt the nutritional status of the Little One, this can lead to a condition of malnutrition and short stature.

Poor hygiene

Mommy must pay attention to family hygiene and environment. The Little One must be regularly cleaned up or bathed. Then do not forget also to maintain the quality and cleanliness of food, drinks and residential environment.

Daddy and Mommy’s behaviors

The picture of the Little One’s growth and development ispsychologically reflected from his/her behavior. The main factors that influence the behavior of the Little One is the behavior of Daddy and Mommy, such as being too protective or too quick to provide assistance. Mommy should be able to give freedom to the Little One to be independent and to take risks. It's important that he/she matures emotionally and has confidence.

Illness

If during the growth and development period of the Little One often gets sick, then he/she is at risk to not able to reach the maximum potential, such as reaching normal height, weight, and sexual maturity.

The period of growth and development of the Little One takes place very quickly. Therefore, Mommy must always monitor the process. Ensure that the optimal growth needed by the Little One is fulfilled by providing fortified additional nutrients with 20 vitamins and minerals, such as calcium, magnesium, vitamin A, vitamin B12 and vitamin D. This vitamin and mineral content will support the body tissue formation and maintain bone and teeth density.
