5 Tips to Make Your Little One Sleep Well

Lately, is it difficult to ask your Little One to have some rest? It seems that almost every dad and mom must have experienced a time when their little ones were having difficulties in sleeping. There are a lot of benefits of a good sleep, that it shouldn’t be underestimated. It is included as the basic need of everyone alive, including your Little One.

The process of growth and development is not only influenced by nutrition and stimulation but also depends on the quality and quantity of sleep. This is because at the time when your Little One is asleep, body cell regeneration as well as brain growth and development are at their peaks. Your Little One needs to be asleep for 10-12 hours at night to stay cheerful and not fussy at the next day.

Overcome your Little One sleep problems by doing the following things:

Create a routine before bedtime

Mommy can make a sleep schedule for your Little One and try to stay on that track. Before going to bed, do a routine like teeth-brushing, changing the clothes, reading a story book or listening to a soothing music. This routine will make your Little One understand that it’s time to go to bed.

Limit his/her activity before bedtime

With the sleep schedule, Mom and your Little One will be more disciplined about the time. One of the bedtime problems often faced by the parents is too late bedtime at night. Usually this is caused by many activities before bedtime.

It is best if Mommy limit your Little One’s physical activities 2-3 hours prior to bedtime. Invite him/her to do more quiet activities, such as reading a book. This will slow the rhythm of his/her small body and make your Little One to be relaxed.

Give your Little One the right nutrition

Your Little One’s brain development needs the appropriate nutrition fulfillment. One of the most important nutrition for your Little Ones brain is alpha-lactalbumin which has various amino acids such as tryptophan and cysteine. Consumption of alpha-lactalbumin tryptophan has been proved to be able to improve your Little One’s sleep quality which is an important thing in its influence towards brain function and development of your Little One. Administration of all kinds of nutrition containing alpha-lactalbumin can decrease the risk of brain function and development disorder on your Little One.

Create a calm and comfortable atmosphere

Approaching bedtime, invite your Little One into the bedroom. Then, Mommy can dim the bedroom lights. This will reduce the stimulation that will make your Little One cannot fall to sleep. When your Little One is asleep, turn off all the room lights. The melatonin hormone will be released maximally at night, when the room is really dark. This hormone plays a role in boosting the immune system and keeps him/her relaxed during rest.

Light Massage

It turns out that a light massage is not only preferred by adults but also children. Your Little One’s Body will become more relaxed. This will help him to fall asleep more easily and maintain the quality of his/her night's sleep.

The Sleeping pattern of your Little One may be different from other children with his/her age, thus, the problem and the solution may not be exactly the same. Mommy should be able to find the most appropriate solution based on the condition of your Little One. The key is to be patient and consistent in applying better sleep habit. Good luck!
