Provide Children with These Foods to Grow Smart

Morinaga Platinum - 24 January 2019

Moms, do you know that brain has developed since 8-14 weeks after the process of fertilization happened? The development process continues very quickly until the last trimester of pregnancy. And after the children are born, the brain is still developing rapidly until the age of 3 years old.

The brain development and maturity of every child are certainly not the same as this is affected by the nutrition and stimulation provided to them.

Nutrition, as one of the important factors to support the optimum development of your children, is not only beneficial to the health, but also needed to stimulate the brain. If the children do not consume food with a balanced nutrition, then their development may be obstructed compared to other children. Giving them with an improper nutrition can also reduce their ability to concentrate and learn new things.

Here are some good nutrients to support the children’s development process that must not be missing from their daily menu:

Vegetables

Vegetables contain vitamins and minerals needed to improve the children’s intelligence. Vegetables have various colors but those colors are not merely for appearance. Vegetables with colors mean that they contain antioxidants that are good for the body. For examples, red peppers. While broccoli contains beta-carotene that can support the brain development, tomatoes contain lycopene and bit contain antasianid that protect the brain membranes, spinach contains lysine that can increase the children’s appetite as well as B9 that can improve their memory.

Fruits

For an optimum brain development, Moms could provide the children with fruits that highly contain vitamin C and E like avocados and bananas.

Fish

Fish is rich in omega-3, DHA fatty acids, and EPA fatty acids that can help the brain development. Some types of fish that can be consumed by the children are fish without scales like catfish, eel, salmon, sardines, and tuna.

Eggs and Meats

Eggs and meats are sources of protein. Increase the children memory by regularly giving them food with egg as the main ingredient, especially the egg yolk. Do the same with meats as they ate high in protein, minerals and iron.

Milk

Milk complements the food nutrition. Children aged 1-3 years old can be given the milk for growth, Morinaga Platinum Chil Kid, which does not only contain the multitalented intelligence ingredients like choline (for memory storage) and linoleic acid (functions to carry the stimulation in the nerve cells to increase comprehension), but also have the antibody nutrients such as nucleotides (increasing the antibody to fight disease) and prebiotics (food for the good bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract).

Processed Soybeans

Do not underestimate food made of processed soybeans such as tofu, tempe, or soy essence as they are rich in protein, carbohydrates, vitamins and fibers.

All these elements are very good for children’s brain development, especially during their golden period.

In order for the children to not get bored and refuse to eat, Moms should try to explore the use of spices and herbs as well as various cooking techniques. But surely the food should be adjusted according to the age group as well.
